After finishing up a lockout-shortened season in 4th place in the Eastern Conference, the Boston Bruins put themselves in a good position to make a run at the 2013 Stanley Cup. Equipped with a fleet of capable scorers and a goaltender who understands what it takes to win a close game, the Bruins have been a formidable opponent in their conference throughout an abbreviated yet demanding season.

They have high hopes of bringing the Stanley Cup back to Boston, and they are only two victories away from advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals. Doing so would put them four victories away from advancing to the Stanley Cut Finals, which would obviously put them four victories away from attaining this lofty yet increasingly realistic goal.

The Bruins most likely opponent the next round would be the Pittsburgh Penguins, a team that has shown an ability to dominate the field despite setbacks such as injuries and contract disputes. The bottom line remains that if the Bruins are able to play their breed of hockey and keep from incurring penalties, they can be a tough matchup for any team in the NHL. With each passing victory, the momentum building in Boston becomes even greater.

The National Hockey League season is one of the most grueling in all of professional sports. After surviving night after night punishment for almost seven months, teams enter the playoffs and they have to increase their intensity even more. When a team faces off against an opponent in the playoffs, they are required to beat this team four times in a seven game series. This familiarity makes it difficult for players to outsmart their opponents or fool their opponents since they are very familiar with their plays, skills and tendencies at this point.This{{/tag} helps explain it more.

Once teams advance out of the Conference Championship round they are faced up with an opponent from the other conference for the battle that will determine the winner of Lord Stanley’s Cup. The hoisting of the Cup is a culmination of a year’s worth of blood, sweat and tears that are required to be the best team in the National Hockey League. The players on the winning team are the envy of the rest of the NHL and get to revel in the glory of the Cup for a few months before the next season. Players who win the Cup deserve all the accolades that accompany victory!

While every Boston Bruins fan would prefer to be at TD Garden for every game, unfortunately, real life often gets in the way. In order to display your fanhood to the world despite not attending the game, you should buy a Bruins jersey.

A Bruins jersey is an essential part of your game watching outfit, especially if you are watching a game out at a bar. It lets other Bruins fans know that you are part of the fan collective and that you can enjoy all the highs (and unfortunately lows) together. It also shows that you are a fan that can be trusted to discuss the details of the game, as you at least have enough knowledge to determine whose jersey to buy.

A Bruins jersey is also a great thing to wear during non-game days. It proves to others that you remain loyal even during the off-season, and that you are thinking about hockey all the time.

The big question of the day, can the Boston Bruins repeat. Last year was such a magical time. Boston did the impossible and not only won 3 game 7′s but came back from an 0-2 deficit and won the Stanley Cup. As hard as that was I think winning it again may prove to be harder. The last team to win it back to back was the Detroit Red Wings in 1997 & 1998.

I think that Philadelphia is going to be a tough team to beat this year. The addition of Jaromir Jagr will certainly make the Flyers better. The Washington Capitals are a team that has to be considered one of the favorites. And if Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin can stay healthy then Pittsburgh will also be a force.

Getting out of the Eastern conference is going to be tough, it always is. Beating the best team from the Western conference will also be a challenge. Boston managed to do this last year and could very well do it again. It is such a monumental task which is why the Stanley Cup is considered the most coveted trophy in sports. Will shall wait and see if the mighty Bruins are up for the challenge.

Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito were two of the greatest hockey players that ever laced on skates. Phil Esposito was one of the greatest forwards, which was quite an accomplishment, considering he didn’t learn to skate until he was a teenager. He teamed with Bobby Orr when they were both Boston Bruins. They skated in tandem to become one of the most dynamic scoring duos in hockey history. Bobby Orr’s game was amazing. He was known for slick passing and playmaking. His end to end rushes were unheard of by defensemen.I found some more information here. Orr did everything at high speed. Matching up with the talents of Phil Esposito made the Bruins a dominating force. In 1970 and 1972, they won the Stanley Cup.

Phil Esposito

After Esposito’s career ended, he remained a part of the National Hockey League scene. He spent time as a pitchman and a broadcaster. He became an executive with the New York Rangers, serving as the general manager and the head coach. He only spent a short time on the bench. Esposito went on to be one of the founders of the Tamba Bay Lightning.

Bobby Orr

After injuries ended his career prematurely, Bobby Orr went on to do charity work. He also spends time golfing when he is not tending to his Orr Hockey Group Agency. He is also available for speaking engagements.

The Boston Bruins are the current class of the NHL. After making an impeccable run to the Stanley Cup in the 2011 season, the Boston Bruins are one of the best franchises in sports. Their roster is one of the best and their coaching staff is hands down one of the most impressive in the NHL. The thing with the Bruins is that they are the a good team in terms of modeling how a franchise and it’s players should carry themselves. They have a reputation of being a clean team and playing a hard-nosed aggressive style of play but always respecting their opponents.

The star players on the Bruins have a lot to handle in the upcoming season. Between proving themselves again in the Eastern Conference and welcoming new and young players into the system, their expectations are high. The Eastern Conference has some a few of the best teams in the NHL that are consistently battling for the top prize in the NHL. The Bruins were not suppose to win the cup last year, they shocked the NHL and it’s fan base. That is the beautiful thing about sports and the NHL in particular. Teams with long withstanding traditions and those who are constantly making cup runs can easily be beaten at anytime in the playoffs. The NHL TV ratings go up every year during the playoffs. Those who are not typical fans will tune in for the Stanley Cup Playoffs and usually choosing the under dog, which happened to be the Bruins this year. When the clock struck zero against the heavily favored Canucks, the Bruins were the most loved team in sports.

The 2011-2012 season is almost here and the Bruins and their fans are expecting big things from the team. Anything short of a Stanley Cup will be considered failure by many people affiliated with the team.

The Boston Bruins recently won their first Stanley Cup in years. This prompted Boston sports fans to renew their fandom of the team after years of ineptitude. Whenever a team wins a championship their fan base understandably increases exponentially. But, not all of these people will be able to attend the different hockey matches that they will play throughout the season. But, there are options for those who do not have season tickets to Boston Bruins games.

The best way to follow a team when you can not attend games is to follow them online. There are numerous bloggers online that blog specifically about one team. These dedicated bloggers are very effective for gathering information about your favorite team because of the fact that they write solely about one team so they have more in depth information than the average sports writer on other sports news websites.

Another great thing about following a team online is that you can often times stream their games straight to your computer. This makes you able to watch their games and support the team no matter where you are. Even sometimes if you are at work (as long as your boss does not catch you in the act).

The National Hockey League is an up and down league for most of the regular season. Many teams will have hot and cold streaks but usually with about a month left to go, teams will settle in and the picture becomes more clear. However, finding the best team in the league is tough because teams in the NHL seem to be consistent. After the playoffs though, it is clear what team has all the pieces to be considered as the best team in the league

The Boston Bruins are the deepest and most complete team in the league. They have the best goalie on the ice and have a perfect balance between size, skill, youth and veteran leadership. Its no wonder they dominated the Stanley Cup playoffs and when they played in a game 7 of the finals, it showed their determination and their outright athletic ability. To play in 3 games sevens and survive all of them really shows something about their coaching and leadership on the ice. The Bruins have the ability to overcome many obstacles and they really showed it in the playoffs. Look out for Tim Thomas, Zdeno Chara and Milan Lucic to come out in 2011-2012 and show how good they really are.

Coming off of a record season and the franchises 6th Stanley Cup, the Boston Bruins are looking to repeat. They have all the tools and return arguably the most balanced team in the league. With an experienced blue line who also brings in some young talent and a ton of speed up front with a ton of guys that score goals, the Bruins will make another cup run.

The 2010-2011 Stanley Cup playoffs were the best sports playoffs in many years. The Boston Bruins headlined the playoffs by completing multiple come backs and achieving what many said was the impossible when they defeated the Vancouver Canucks. The 2011-2012 season is looking to be like another cup run for the Bruins. They have arguably the best goalie in the league in Tim Thomas who won the Conn Smythe and the Vezina trophy. Thomas is going nowhere and is committed to bringing more cups to Boston. The monster on the blue line Zdeno Chara loves his town in Boston and will lead a group of defenseman into the 2011-2012 season that are both talented and strong willed.

The Boston Bruins have all the right pieces to bring a number of Stanley Cups back to Boston. Keep an eye out for this team to make another deep run.
